 The Ultimate Knee
The OrthoLite Ultimate Leg allows choices so that you can walk with either a yielding function through the stance phase or you
can have a hydraulic locking
at heel strike which is released automatically for the swing phase. The swing phase requires very little effort. A
special feature is hydraulic terminal impact
dampening arrangement which creates a proprioceptive indication of when the leg is extended. Users say that they know
when the knee has extended which makes walking safer.
The prosthetist can set the function to suit the individual needs of the user. The Ultimate Knee has been fitted to bilateral AK's who
have walked in the heel lock mode and used the yield mode for gently sitting down. It has been fitted to golfers who
say it requires less effort and to users as light as 100lbs and
equally people of 210lbs. The Ultimate Knee has also been fitted successfully to new users and experienced ones.

An upper extremity amputee strives to handle objects
carefully and effectively. They are always aware that the object may drop from their prosthetic hand. The goal would be to
transfer this concentration from the tool
(hand) to the task (object). The new Sensor Hand from Otto Bock Orthopedic Industry of Canada offers greater function, control
and ultimately peace of mind to
its users. Microchip and slip sensor technology allows the hand to instantaneously adjust its grip without any input from the
user to prevent slippage. An additional
flexy-grip feature allows the amputee to reposition an object in the hand without any EMG input. The hand will automatically
reset its grip to the appropriate amount of
